Hey there! I am Eric Bailey, Global Motivational speaker and corporate workshop facilitator. I have customized presentations for people in 13 different countries with over 5,000 people in attendance at a session.

Want to learn the secrets to staying motivated and achieving your goals? I’ve had the incredible opportunity to speak to various audiences about resilience, accountability, goals and motivation, and let me tell you; it’s one of my favorite things to do.

I know that challenges and setbacks can sometimes make us feel discouraged and lose faith in ourselves. But have no fear! In this article, I will share three tried-and-true methods to help you stay motivated and crush those goals of motivation. So, get ready to be inspired, and let’s dive in!

Break Your Goal Down into Smaller Tasks

As someone who has struggled with staying motivated, I have learned that tackling significant goals can often feel overwhelming and discouraging. That’s why I have found it essential to break down my overarching goals into smaller, more manageable tasks.

For instance, when I decided to run a marathon, the thought of running 26.2 miles seemed impossible. So, I broke it down into smaller tasks and set achievable milestones along the way, like running for more extended periods each week or adding strength-training sessions into my routine. Each time I completed a task, I felt more motivated and energized to push forward. It takes hard work to achieve goals.

By breaking your goals down into smaller tasks, you can feel a sense of accomplishment with each step and avoid getting demotivated by the enormity of the larger goal. With realistic deadlines for each task, you can maintain a steady pace of progress and build momentum toward your ultimate goal.

Keep Track of Your Goals

Tracking my goals has been a game-changer in my journey toward success. Setting short-term and long-term goals allows me to measure my progress and adjust my approach as necessary.

I use a goal-tracking journal to record my progress regularly, and it motivates me to keep pushing forward when I see how far I’ve come. If I need to catch up on my goals, I use this tracking process to identify potential roadblocks and make adjustments. This way, I can regain focus, eliminate distractions, and get back on track.

Celebrate every small accomplishment, and use your setbacks and failures as opportunities for learning, growth, motivational and goal setting.

Prepare for Failure

As someone who has experienced their fair share of setbacks, I know that failure is an inevitable part of the journey towards success. I’ve learned to embrace resilience, perseverance, and optimism in the face of adversity.

Instead of letting setbacks and failures discourage me, I use them as a learning opportunity and a source of motivation. I analyze what went wrong, identify lessons learned, and adjust my approach accordingly. This way, I can continue moving forward with renewed determination and a clearer vision of what I want to achieve.

You must surround yourself with supportive individuals who inspire and motivate you. They can help you bounce back from failure and focus on your goals.
